Every Friday The Psychogenealogist shares a "Pic of the Week." The intent is to encourage thought and imagination about the spaces where psychology, genealogy, and history converge.

My best guess is that this photograph was taken sometime between 1890 and 1910. It doesn't look like a family photo to me. Most of the people seem of similar age. The composition is nice and the people seem professionally posed.

So what is it? Who are they? What are their stories?

I've included the photo as well as several closeups that caught me attention. Enjoy! 

Here is a dapper looking fella enjoying a frosty beverage.

Those hats look heavy!

A relaxed gent halfway through his beer.

An intense, mustachioed stare.

Closeup of the whole gang.

A subtle smile, almost a smirk. 

The only person in the group not wearing a hat. What a rebel!

I just enjoy the balance of this crop. 

There is no way of knowing for sure, but I just love imagining the stories of the people in this photograph. Who where they? What did they do? Who did they love and where did they travel? Did they ever get scared, or lonely, or exuberant? Were any of them criminals, clergy, or conmen? Who were their children, and grandchildren, and great grandchildren?

What were their stories?
