The Psychogenealogist Pic of the Week (#68) - 1950s Summer
Every Friday The Psychogenealogist shares a "Pic of the Week." The intent is to encourage thought and imagination about the spaces where psychology, genealogy, and history converge.
It is mid April and just earlier this week, here in Michigan, we are still getting some snow flurries and nasty ice storms!
That makes this delightful Kodachrome photo slide from a mid 1950s summer all the more smile inducing. I found it from one of my favorite photo slide sellers on eBay.
It is one of the more unique captures I've come across. Clearly the photographer had an eye for an interesting shot: a straw hatted toddler gripping the bars of his chicken wire prison.
As always, I am astounded by the clear and vibrant colors of these more than 60 year old photographic images.
For a great article on why Kodachrome is so wonderful, check out: "Looking Back at Kodachrome – Kodak’s Most Famous Film and Why It’s So Special".
And here is an earlier blog I wrote about my own personal experience (and some tips) with Kodachrome: "6 Tips: How to Date and Enjoy Your Kodachrome Photo Slides".
There's not much more to say about this one.
Enjoy - and Happy Summer!
