Every week The Psychogenealogist shares a "Pic of the Week." The intent is to encourage thought and imagination about the spaces where psychology, genealogy, and history converge.
I picked up this lovely photograph at a local antique store. There were no markings on the front or back, other than a price written by the seller. The photo is affixed to a large mat.
Here is the photo cropped without the mat.
I would love some help identifying anything about this photo. It obviously looks like some sort of bottling operation. Was it beer? Soda? Did they make it there too? Below are some closeup of details that might help us tell the story of this photo.
Can you read the lettering on this box?
What do the menβs clothes tell us about the date or location of the photo?
What sort of bottles are those? Is this man washing then?
Where does this arched doorway lead to?
What are these fixtures on the ceiling?
What is this man in the very back doing?
Can you make out any design or lettering on this upside down bottle?
Are there any other details of the photo that stick out to you? I would love to hear your thoughts. Don't be afraid to use your imagination!
Though it seems like a long shot, I am hoping we can find the story behind this very neat vintage photograph.
