This old-timey store found photo has some interesting details. It appears to be a pharmacy or drugstore. On the back is written “Herbert Kalt”.
There is a young African-American man standing just right of center.
On the back wall, just left of center, is a poster I determined to be a WWI era Red Cross poster from around 1918.
According to The Limited Edition Art and Antiques website:
HAVE YOU ANSWERED THE RED CROSS CHRISTMAS ROLL CALL, 1918. Original WW1 (28 x 30” / 92 x 98 cm) formerly folded and now linen backed WW1 vintage Red Cross Poster designed by renowned artist Harrison Fisher (1877-1934) to encourage the general public to support the Red Cross campaign to aid the World War 1 relief effort. In this design, a red cross nurse reaches out her hands as if to ask the viewer for support while soldiers march in the background.
Some framed diplomas or licenses adorn the back wall. Items for sale include cigars, Putnam Dyes, paper, pens, books, and more. I have yet to research Herbert Kalt, but there are several clues that might lead to a positive identification in the future.
