FIND THEIR STORY #2

This photo came from an estate sale at 20069 Lichfield, Detroit, MI 48221. I grabbed a hall from there today and most of them had some bits of identification on them. This cabinet card photograph is labeled as “Hiram Van Vorris”.

The photograph was taken by The Prince Photograph Gallery located at No. 10 Public Square in Canton, Ohio. The back of the cabinet card features an appealing mark that reads, “Cloudy Weather Preferred to Sunshine.”

I conducted a brief search and found several variations of the surname, including Vorris, Voorhis, and Vorhis, present in the Canton area. At the estate sale, there were numerous piles of photographs; despite being in Detroit, many appeared to be linked to the Canton community.
