Every Friday The Psychogenealogist shares a "Pic of the Week." The intent is to encourage thought and imagination about the spaces where psychology, genealogy, and history converge.
My Pics of the Week have been missing some color as of late. This image came from a photo slide. It was an off brand (i.e., not Kodachrome) slide. I really just liked the subject matter. Two real men sitting with two fake woman in "Ghost Town Calif." The only ones not appearing to be enjoying themselves are the children. I believe the photo was taken in the 1950s.
This girl does not seem particularly pleased.
So, what can you tell me about "Ghost Town" in California? Clearly it is some sort of tourist site.
It seems like it could very likely be Calico Ghost Town Regional Park. Have you ever been there? Has anyone in your family? Are there any stories or photos of your own that you could share to help confirm the location of this one?
Finally: What do you think the girl is thinking?
Do you have an old photograph or a genealogical story that you would like to share? I am happy to consider guest submissions for possible Pic of the Week or other blog posts in the future. Send an email to info@psychogenealogist.com for more information.

A mystery photo identified (perhaps incorrectly) as Isaac Benson Chapman (1888-1952) of Columbus, Ohio some time in the very early 1900s.
